There are plenty of other youth activities in our community, including baseball & softball leagues, youth football, basketball, soccer, scouting, and much more. We have a great playground in Ravenna. Our little town offers many of the same amenities of much larger places. I'm not saying that we don't have room for growth and improvement, but we should appreciate what we do have and all of the people who volunteer their time to make those things possible.
For those of us who aren't considered kids (by age, anyway), there are many ways to get involved in our small town. If you find yourself complaining about the community, why not get involved and make things happen? River City Players are working to bring performing arts to the community and to purchase and restore the Mack Theater. Estill Action Group organizes monthly Actioneer Adventures to explore different parts of our beautiful county, and they are working toward achieving Trail Town status for our community to bring notoriety and develop our tourism potential. Estill Arts Council, Kiwanis, Woman's Club, Garden Clubs, Lions Club...the list goes on and on.
If you're looking for something to do in this town, keep and eye on our print media, listen to local radio stations, and follow different local groups on social media. You may just find there is more out there to do than you thought.
